M. K. \u010ciurlionis has enthusiastically supported the idea raised in 1907 and cherished by the Lithuanian community to have one building, where meetings of various societies, choir rehearsals, performances, concerts, Lithuanian art exhibitions would take place. The artist\u2019s idea was even more ambitious: it was to be a luxurious palace with a modern hall for exhibitions; it was to be situated on the hill. In October of 1911, after the death of M. K. \u010ciurlionis, the Lithuanian community acquired a plot for construction in Pam\u0117nkalnis, in the territory of today\u2019s Tauras Hill.
