This building formerly functioned as Carriage House of Rietavas Manor. Musicians of the Michał Ogiński Orchestra from Plungė, arriving for the joint festive events, would enter the White Gate and stop by the Carriage House. Thus, M. K. Čiurlionis was here more than once.
Upon the completion of reconstruction of the building in 2014, the Rietavas Cultural Centre as well as the Rietavas Tourism and Business Information Centre were established here.
