Palanga resort museum was created on 29th August, 2013 following the decision of Palanga municipality. Its headquarters – villa “Anapilis”, which stands out with its unique architecture that has no analogues in Lithuania’s seaside. The villa, built in the end of 19th century, is closely connected with the history of the resort and is believed to be one of the first count Tiškevičius summer villas.

In the archives of Palanga resort museum there are quite a lot of archeology, history, photography, numistatics, art and other exhibits that represent the history of Palanga resort. The museum has a lot of active with cultural and educational activities: lectures, meetings, concerts, exhibitions, conferences, publishing. There is a permanent exhibition in the museum that presents Palanga region and people who lived and worked here in a contemporary and interactive way. One of those people is the most famous Lithuanian painter and composer – M. K. Čiurlionis.

To commemorate M. K. Čiurlionis, the museum works closely with the National M. K. Čiurlionis art school and Stasys Vainiūnas art school of Palanga, organizes young talent concerts, exhibitions and educational programs each year.

The museum is adapted for visitors with disabilities.
