In November 1907, M. K. Čiurlionis attended a dress rehearsal of Blinda, svieto lygintojas (Blinda, the Bringer of Equality), a play by Gabrielius Landsbergis-Žemkalnis, in this hall. During this rehearsal he met his future wife Sofija Kymantaitė. In May 1908, Vilniaus Kanklės men’s choir premiered M. K. Čiurlionis’ cantata De Profundis (organ part arranged for piano) in this hall.
